Over 90% of the world’s data has been created in the last 5 years. (Technology Point) When you think about that it that means that every day you aren’t innovating you are exponentially behind where you were the day before. Globally the Poultry and Swine industry face new challenges daily, and we still need to find solutions to issues we have had for years. We need data and science-based solutions to solve these problems.

A year ago, the world was rocked as we came together as a globe to shut down and stop the spread of COVID-19. As of May 16th, over 1.45 Billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered across 176 countries (Bloomberg). Without innovation and science-based solutions this could not have happened. I think this applies to how we should face every problem. Get the facts, learn all you can, and create solutions. As scientists we spend hours and days trying to find the things that will make lives better. Originally for me, I was working with research on traditional molecular cloning and fermentation technologies that was cutting edge, now it is CRISPR. At BRI we will continue to use cutting edge technologies to make new discoveries. While it looks a little different than a vaccine, we continue to strive to find ways to create products to increase profitability, animal wellness and sustainable practices for farming.

Our company tagline is “trust the science.” We believe in scientific rigor. That means that we are going to use the science to lead us to solutions. It is human tendency to try to find things to support your narrative, but that is not science. We do our very best every day to let the science tell us what we need to know and what potential solutions we need to develop. Our team is committed to putting bias aside and really digging into the science behind the enzymes and microbes included in our products; and making them better every day. We trust the science to let the data lead us to the solutions that will best meet our customer needs.

As we continue to produce data and innovate, we know it is important to continue to let the science lead. We are excited to see the data that is generated in the next few years, and what new technologies we can offer. We will continue to work every day to create science-based innovation because we trust the science.
