Research Triangle Park, N.C. — February 9, 2020 —BioResource International, Inc. (BRI), a global biotechnology company specializing in the research, development and manufacture of high-performance enzyme and probiotic feed additives for optimizing animal nutrition and gut health, announced today that findings from a comprehensive study using its xylanase-direct-fed microbial feed additive, EnzaPro®, in Nile Tilapia diets will be presented at the World Aquaculture Society’s Aquaculture America 2020 conference and tradeshow February 9 – 12, 2020, in Honolulu, HI.

The study, “Effects of dietary supplementation of a novel xylanase-direct-fed microbial feed additive on the growth performance, whole-body nutrient retention, and nutrient digestibility of juvenile Nile tilapia fed practical diets with reduced energy density,” will be presented by James Tyus, Ph.D., Technical Services Manager at BRI, on Wednesday, February 12, at 11:30 a.m. in room 314 of the Hawaii Convention Center as a part of the conference’s Alternative and Emerging Feed Ingredients oral session.

Results from the 2-phase, 85-day study, conducted in collaboration with Dr. Jorge Dias of Sparos, LDA (Olhão, Portugal), indicate that EnzaPro supplementation to practical tilapia diets enhances fish growth performance by providing at least 120 kcal/kg gross energy through significant improvement in digestibility and utilization of plant-based diets, suggesting a high efficacy of the product to increase nutrient availability and promote strong gastrointestinal fitness.
