Research Triangle Park, N.C. — February 9, 2020 —BioResource International, Inc. (BRI), a global biotechnology company specializing in the research, development, and manufacture of high-performance enzyme and probiotic feed additives for optimizing animal nutrition and gut health, announced today that findings from a comprehensive study using its xylanase-direct-fed microbial feed additive, EnzaPro®, in nursery pig diets will be presented at the 2020 Joint Meeting of the American Society of Animal Science – Midwest Section and American Dairy Science Association – Midwest Branch  March 2 – 4, 2020, in Omaha, NE.

The study, “Effects of dietary supplementation with xylanase and probiotics on growth performance and gut health of newly weaned pigs challenged with enterotoxigenic E. coli on day 7, post weaned,” was conducted in collaboration with research partners from North Carolina State University’s Department of Animal Science, including Marcos Duarte, Ph.D. and Professor Sung Woo Kim, Ph.D. Research findings will be presented on Tuesday, March 3, at 2:15 p.m. in room 202 of the CHI Health Center Convention Center.

Results from the 21-day trial indicate that EnzaPro supplementation to nursery pigs’ diets improves growth performance, regardless of the E. coli challenge, by enhancing gut health (as evidenced by EnzaPro’s positive impacts on oxidative stress, immune response and mucosal morphology).
